Mt. Kailash Mt. Kailash Wesak valley is near Mt. Kailash, also known as Kailasa, Rajatadri, or "Silver Mountain." This is considered perhaps the most sacred mountain in all of Tibet. It is also considered the most holy mountain in both Hindu and Buddhist teachings. Pilgrims come from all over Tibet, and some even from India, to gain merit and circle the mountain. Some postrate themselves the entire circumfrence of the mountain, taking a step, postrating themselves to the ground, standing again, and taking another step.
