This website is hosted by Esoteric Publishing. We are a publishing house that publishes works about things that are "esoteric." That is, we are concerned about things that are hidden, invisible, and unknown by the senses. What does this mean? Many people trust what they see and what they hear as being valid and true. They do not expect that there is anything beyond the physical universe that modern science has proclaimed to be the sum total of all existence. Other people trust the religion that they adhere to. They see their religion as being everything that they need to know about the nature of the universe. One or the other of these two views of the world are almost universally held by everyone. There are some exceptions, of course, but let us speak in general terms at this point. Wherever we look, then, we find people who trust in their senses: they are trusting their human senses and the scientific instruments by which they examine the universe with their senses. Or else they are trusting their "holy book" or "sacred teaching" or "church" or "Guru" or "Master" — which is again visible to the senses. We could say that both these views of the world are "exoteric" — that is, related to the outer sensory manifestation of things. Whereas, the "esoteric" is concerned with that which the senses cannot reveal, what scientific instruments can never detect, and with Truths that can never be written down in any holy book. The esoteric is concerned with a Reality that is entirely outside of all human experience, with the mystical revelation of Divinity that is both an individual and universal experience, and with the inner Life that endures eternally regardless of what happens to the outer form. The esoteric is concerned with establishing a living and vital contact with the Spirit that lies within each human heart, and following that Spirit wherever it may lead. The esoteric is concerned with Truth — not truth as it is known by the mind, but instead the Truth that is a living experience of Reality, of the divine Universe, and of God. Both Jesus and the Buddha proclaimed that "the Truth will set you free." Thus we uncompromisingly follow Truth — the Wisdom of the Heart. The esoteric is concerned, therefore, with the great cyclic changes that are occurring on this planet, and the forthcoming establishment of a "new heaven and a new earth" — but this is not the message of a religion with a particular dogma, or a sect that seeks followers, or a cult that has a guru. It is not the breathless announcement of the "millennium" nor is it related to the new age visions of "ascension." It is instead a recognition of the natural and inevitable working out of cyclic forces on this planet that will produce a new world just as surely as the rising of the sun dispels darkness. Planetary change is on its way, and is indeed upon us, and those who can read the signs are looking only to inner Truth for guidance, and not to the world of the senses or to themselves. This esoteric view of the world is, therefore, for those who know that drastic change is on its way, and who seek to serve the planet in this great transition. They know that they have come into this world for a Purpose, and that this Purpose must be fulfilled at all cost. They sense inwardly that there is a divine Plan for the planet, and that they are here to serve it. They have come to understand that they are here to fan the divine inner Flame to Life in all those who are able to receive it. The esoteric view is for those who know that they are a stone in the invisible Pyramid, and that they are a pillar of the divine Temple of Truth. They know that their true nature is not anything of this planet, but has its existence on planes and realms totally outside of this world. The esoteric view is, therefore, for those who are not satisfied with anything found in this world — not its books, nor its teachers, nor its science, religion, culture, civilization, or beauty. They see an invisible and Eternal culture and civilization, a divine Beauty and infinite Wisdom, and they adhere only to that. The esoteric view is for those who are not bound by the world's words, concepts, and terminology. They see the seed of divinity in all human beings of whatever religion, race, nationality, or culture they may belong to. They are universal in their consciousness and are cosmic in their focus. The esoteric view is for those who think nothing of themselves, who live on this planet without seeking for their own happiness, success, enjoyment, pleasure, or enlightenment. Instead they turn all their resources and abilities towards the manifestation of the Divine. The esoteric view is for those who have no ambition except to serve God. While the world seeks to make people powerful, they seek to make the self weak and empty so that the Divine may have room to express and shine. They become an "empty cup" so that Truth may fill them. They seek to make themselves nothing so that the Christ within may be everything. The esoteric view is for those who have no attachment to this world. It is for those who feel this world is a prison house, a torture chamber, and a place of patient waiting until the Day that Truth comes and transforms all things through Grace. The esoteric view is, therefore, for those who follow the divine Will and not their own human will. They say with enthusiasm and heartfelt conviction: "Not my will but Thine be done." It is for those who follow inner Truth and not any outer teaching or teacher. It is for those who earnestly seek the invisible, eternal Reality, the "Father's House," the "Kingdom of God" — Home. For those few of you who read these words, who inwardly and invisibly understand the meaning of what is said here, and who know that the esoteric view of the universe is for you — that it is indeed your very Life — Welcome! |
