If we are truly aligned with God, then we are at one with Truth. |
The world is being divided into opposing camps. Around the world, in every department of human existence, these divisions are being strengthened. Christianity vs Islam, Taiwan vs China, Republican vs Democrat, America vs the world, North Korea vs South Korea, Israel vs the Middle East, Pakistan vs India, Protestant vs Catholic ... the list is practically endless. Each nation vying for its own resources and powers. Each religion seeking converts of those of other faiths. Each business seeking dominance in its own product area. Each political party seeking control over national policy. All the powers of materialism are at work today to perpetuate these conflicts, divisions, borders, and objectives. They bend every effort to promote the consciousness of separation, isolation, and duality. The tools used to enforce these divisions around the world are hatred, greed, and selfishness. People are blinded by their religious ideals, their beliefs, and their concepts of good and evil, and of right and wrong. These dualistic teachings are used to justify hatred and greed. Propaganda is spread around the world, in every culture, society, and nation, telling people what to think and how to act. And that propaganda succeeds. As a result, people believe that being "right" is a justification for murder, that being "good" is a justification for extortion, and that someone being "evil" is justification for war. The teachings of duality, of right and wrong, good and evil, and light and darkness are used to sway humanity to this cause or that. And because people sincerely believe that they are on the side of light and goodness and truth, they do not hesitate to themselves commit the greatest atrocities. They think that they have the right to act in any way they please just because they are, in their own eyes, good and pure. They think that they can take any action they want because they believe that God is on their side. But if we are truly aligned with God, then we are at one with Truth. That Truth tells us that living in dualism keeps us away from Unity, from God, from Spirit, and from Life. That living in support of any one group of people, or opposing another, is to corrupt our minds and our hearts when in Truth, humanity is One. Further, if we are living in Truth, then Love will inevitably follow — a Love that sees no separation, division, disharmony, or conflict, and lives forever in eternal serenity and peace. God's Love speaks of compassion for all mankind, not just one part of it, any select group, or any particular religion. God's message is unity, synthesis, and harmony, such that the great "heresy of separateness" may come to an end. The dualities are very compelling. They will tell you that you are helping God restore justice to the world. They will tell you that you are doing the work of the Masters and the Saints. They will tell you that you are the select and chosen ones. But this is all a fraud and a deceit, for if you were truly working for God, then you would find that you are also no longer following ego, self, and form. You would find that you had sacrificed your will for the divine Will. You would have already surrendered your life to Christ. As such, you would feel the Spirit of God in your daily life, you would be filled with the Spirit of Peace ... and you could no longer feel any animosity, hatred, or separation from those whom you formerly opposed so ardently and passionately. The very vision of separateness itself would vanish. Doing "good" in this world is only expressing the good that the personality, the little self has. The self can only express what is of its own nature. And that ego, that self, is invariably selfish. That is what egos are and that is what they will always be, and we cannot expect any more from them. To expect egos — to expect humanity today — to establish an era of peace, harmony, and justice is foolishly unrealistic. To do "good" and be "spiritual" and express "love and light," as so many people say they try to do, is then just to express ego and selfishness, and nothing else. The coin is counterfeit, but people take it for the real thing. People imagine that the human soul is "good" and it is! It is! ... and thus expressing soul consciousness is yet another way to trap ourselves in duality. The soul is also trapped in illusion. But what we seek is that which is neither good nor evil, right or wrong, or light or darkness. We seek the universe of non-duality, of absolute Unity. The duality of soul and personality — of the Angel of the Presence and the Dweller on the Threshold — must also be transcended. It is in the transcendence of duality that we find Reality. It is in the escape from this consciousness of dualism that we find Life, freedom, and God. Now people do sincerely believe that they are doing good. And they continue to think that doing good is a good thing to do! And indeed they are really, actually doing good. That is precisely the catch. It is what makes it so difficult to escape the dualities of life. For people imagine that being on the side of goodness, light, love, and peace is itself enough to justify their consciousness of separateness from others — but the separation inevitably leads to the perpetuation of hatred, fear, and pride. This in its turn establishes and enforces the very evils that people sought to eradicate. Doing "good" is not a good thing to do. And seeking to "do good things" is also a misunderstanding of the nature of this dualistic universe. When we uphold the good, we stand in opposition to evil. We make ourselves a part of the duality of good and evil, and become trapped in it. By our focus on the existence of evil, we energize the evil such that it is strengthened. By our support of the good, we strengthen the "good," and thus strengthen the consciousness of separateness from those people whom we do not consider "good" — we strengthen division, disharmony, and dis-unity in the world. Thus by upholding the good, we also strengthen evil ... and the reverse is also the case. All that is really strengthened, in the end, is our entrapment in the limited consciousness of dualism, and the perpetuation of the pairs of opposites that we have involved ourselves in. We are sucked into a vortex of energies that spin endlessly without getting anywhere. When we seek to do good in this world by our own efforts, we are forgetting that God is the sum of all that is truly beneficial in the universe. Rather than seeking to manifest the good that is within us, we should manifest the beneficent Will of God. When we seek to spread love and light to the planet, we are forgetting that God is the source of all Love and Light. Rather than seeking to express our inevitably limited personal love and light — and thus trap ourselves in dualism — we should seek the Love and Light of God. For if we do not experience for ourselves the divine and infinite Love and Light in our own hearts, then we do not really have any to offer to others. When we seek to serve others and to give, we are forgetting that real service is the manifestation of the divine Presence in the world. For a world that had fully responded to the impact of true service is a world where all mankind followed the divine Will. Now, if we ourselves do not know or follow the divine Will in our lives, then we do not really have any service to offer — our service is just a sham and a fraud. If we note with understanding that the strategy of the forces of materialism is to divide humans into an infinite number of endlessly conflicting groups, we can see that to oppose that strategy is to refuse to take sides in any conflict of any kind. We refuse to participate in any group where people are in opposition to other people. We refuse to participate in the dualities of good and evil, of right and wrong, that are being used today to sweep people into a consciousness of separation and hatred. We refuse to participate in this or that political, religious, educational, or business organization for its tactics and strategies are that of division and disharmony. If we also note with understanding that the strategy of the Divine Plan is to promote unity, we shall not fall into the mistake of establishing yet another organization to promote unity! Such a group would inevitably be yet another group of those who belong and those who do not belong — but humanity in Truth has no such divisions. God's unity appears in the world despite, not because of, material organizations. The purpose of the divine Plan today is to manifest the divine Will in the world. For it is that Will that transcends all the dualities of this world. It is that Will that leads us to Life and Truth. It is that Will that guides us to the expression of the divine Purpose — "The Purpose which the Masters know and serve." Therefore we can follow the ways of the world, follow our personal will, and by that fact be caught up in the dualism of this world, or we can surrender our own will to the divine Will. The ego is itself the spirit of separateness, with its endless focus on me and mine. The Will of God is itself the Spirit of non-separateness, of harmony, and of Peace. When we act in accordance with that Will, then unselfish service is automatic, our speech is inspired, and our actions lead us unerringly towards the divine Life. Christ said, "Not my will but Thine be done." When we follow this example, then the Will of God illuminates our lives and fill our hearts with compassion and peace. Moreover, we will be doing all that is possible to aid and assist humanity in these critical times. We will find ourselves at one with all servers everywhere in the invisible, invincible Hierarchy of Christ. |
